The healthcare sector contributes approximately 5% of global carbon emissions due to its intensive use of resources and significant generation of waste, particularly plastics and hazardous materials from single-use medical products. Current regulations prioritise sterility and safety, posing challenges for adopting environmentally friendly or recycled materials. ENKORE overcomes these challenges through a robust, multi-stakeholder collaboration to develop innovative eco-design solutions and practices.
